DTX2

Rugged and Robust Vectored ROV for your challenging environments.

Experience the World’s First Fully Portable Vectored ROV

The Deep Trekker DTX2 ROV is the culmination of our customers’ desires to have the same capability, portability, and ease of use as our flagship product, the DTG2 – but in a package rated for deeper waters and offshore use. Depth rated to 305 m (1000 ft), the DTX2 boasts 26kg (58lbs) of thrust to perform in tough ocean environments.

The integrated vectored thrusters allow for lateral side-to-side movements as well precise turning, forward and backward. Built with our patented pitch system, the Deep Trekker DTX2 ROV rotates 180 degrees to move vertically, making it easy to maneuver in confined areas. The pitching system, combined with vectored thrusters provides unmatched maneuverability, moving in any direction – both vertically and laterally all with only four thrusters.

The DTX2 ROV system has been designed with military, search & rescue, offshore energy, and oceanographic researchers in mind. This robust system can work in higher currents and maintain stability with the vectored thruster design and our patented pitching system. The DTX2 ROV expands our line of ROVs or ‘underwater drones’ past the capabilities of our DTG2 ROV, which is ideal for inspections up 150 m (492 ft).

The DTX2 ROV comes standard with many robust features, and the larger platform allows for more sophisticated add-ons to be attached to each vehicle. Multi-beam or single-beam sonar, USBL positioning, Cygnus thickness gauges, grabber and cutter attachments, and more, all can be equipped to your DTX2 ROV. See all attachments >

The DTX2 ROV Packages

We’ve kept our packages simple for the Deep Trekker DTX2 ROV line, with intelligent sensors already built in for water temperature, (auto) compass heading, (auto) depth, turns, pitch, and roll. Once you’ve selected your package, customize for your project with our available add-ons and accessories.

Why Choose the DTX2 ROV

The DTX2 ROV is the most portable and capable observation class ROV. Complete in two carrying cases, the hydrodynamic design can work in higher currents and maintain stability. The intuitive hand-held controller with viewing screen reduces the learning curve to pilot the DTX2 and provides 330 degrees of viewing from the rotating camera. The internal batteries eliminate the need for a power source, allowing you to deploy the entire system in under a minute.

The internal batteries eliminate the need for power to run down the tether, allowing the tether to be manufactured with extra strength while limiting drag. Unlike ROV systems that require topside power and a thick tether, the DTX2 ROV system’s thin tether will not be as affected by ocean currents, and the DTX2 will spend its power working against the currents, instead of pulling its tether.

We at Deep Trekker are committed to providing intuitive and robust underwater systems. The DTX2 ROV is the ideal tool for your next project. Learn about the Deep Trekker Difference
