The Micron Battery Modem is a reliable solution for through-water communications in environments with limited space and power, eliminating the need for an external power source.
Whether used as a stand-alone data transfer system, part of an AUV control system, or as a self-powered Transponde/Responder beacon for the MicronNav 200 USBL system, the Micron Battery Modem excels in subsea data transfer applications where an external power supply may not be readily available.
With its internal battery power, the Modem can operate in standby mode for approximately 30 days, always ready to receive signals. When transmitting with an update rate of 1 transmission every 2 seconds, the Modem will run for about 7 days.
When the Modem is connected to an external power source, the Modem’s internal batteries act as a backup to ensure uninterrupted operation in case of power loss. The Modem offers robust spread spectrum low data-rate transmission, packed in a compact and cost-effective unit, with a communication range of up to 500m horizontally and 150m vertically.
Configuring the Modem for specific needs is effortless with the Tritech Genesis Software, allowing it to function as a data modem, transponder, or responder. The rotary selector on the Modem enables the selection of one of the 16 transponder IDs, providing flexibility in operations.
