Diver Mounted Display (DMD)

Introducing the revolutionary Diver Mounted Display (DMD), a cutting-edge system designed to empower divers in challenging zero visibility environments. Developed in 2020, the DMD combines the power of the Gemini 1200ik dual-frequency multibeam imaging sonar with advanced display technology, revolutionizing the way divers recognize, navigate, and inspect targets underwater.

Mounted at head height, the Gemini 1200ik projects real-time sonar images into a monocle that covers the diver’s non-dominant eye, enabling seamless target recognition and precise navigation, even in low-visibility water. With its exceptional range, resolution, and field of view, the Gemini 1200ik ensures divers have the utmost confidence in their operations and significantly enhances search efficiency compared to traditional search patterns.

Choose from our range of Gemini multibeam imaging sonars to suit your specific operation requirements. The Micron Gemini offers basic navigation capability, while the Gemini 720ik and Gemini 1200ik provide enhanced resolution and extended capabilities for higher precision tasks. The Diver Mounted Display is available in two configurations to cater to different diving scenarios. The tethered system (DMD-T) is ideal for surface air dive systems, where a supplied tether connects the diver to the surface, allowing the support team to control the sonar operation.

For divers seeking independent operation and maximum flexibility, the untethered system (DMD-U) enables complete autonomy without the need for a surface connection. Divers can take full control of the sonar operation themselves, especially beneficial for covert operations or environments where tether hazards may exist.

Multibeam Imaging Sonars

Enhance your diving operations with our advanced suite of multibeam imaging sonars, featuring the Gemini 720ik and Gemini 1200ik. These state-of-the-art sonars have been used in a wide range of applications to support divers for over a decade. Most recently, the Micron Gemini has gained popularity due to its compact form factor, lightweight design, and impressive 750m depth rating, allowing for seamless integration into diver-supporting vehicles and swimboards.

With a 90° horizontal field of view, 50m range, 128 beams, and an exceptional angular resolution of 0.7°, the Micron Gemini offers powerful imaging capabilities in a compact package. Since its launch in 2022, this versatile sonar has been embraced by divers and is projected to gain even more momentum in the coming years. At Tritech, we continuously refine our products based on valuable user feedback, ensuring that they meet the evolving needs of divers.

In 2019, we introduced the Gemini 1200ik, a dual-frequency version of the Gemini 720ik. This sonar has rapidly gained popularity, enabling divers to locate and navigate toward targets using the low frequency, while conducting close inspections with high-definition, video-like imagery using the high frequency. Additionally, the Gemini 1200ik will soon feature AHRS, reducing the need for additional sensors and payload on ROVs.

ROVs equipped with multibeam imaging sonars offer an effective way for dive teams to support divers in hazardous water conditions and low visibility. By deploying the ROV in close proximity to the diver, an additional set of eyes is provided. The team on land can communicate with and guide the diver using the data and images provided by the ROV and sonar, enhancing safety and coordination during the dive.

MicronNav 200

Discover the remarkable capabilities of the MicronNav 200, our cutting-edge Ultra Short Base Line (USBL) tracking system. With its advanced features and integrated Google Maps™ compatibility, this state-of-the-art system provides real-time, easy-to-understand location data in large bodies of water.

Designed as an upgrade to its predecessor, the MicronNav 200 boasts a smaller and more accurate USBL head, delivering enhanced precision and reliability. It seamlessly integrates with the Micron Battery Modem, a self-powered modem capable of transmitting signals to the topside dive team for an impressive duration of up to 30 days.

Comprising a subsea Micron Modem or Battery Micron Modem, a surface USBL transducer with integrated magnetic compass and pitch/roll sensors, a surface MicronNav 200 interface hub, and intuitive operating software controlled by a topside PC/laptop, this comprehensive system ensures seamless communication and efficient tracking.

Leveraging spread spectrum acoustic technology, the MicronNav 200 establishes a robust communication link between the dunking transducers and the vehicle Micron Modem/Micron Battery Modem, facilitating reliable and effective data transmission in diverse underwater environments.
