The Seanet SCU V5 is a reliable, rugged, and easy-to-install replacement for the SCU V4. Designed as a robust 19″ rack mount unit with floated shock mount sub-assemblies, it ensures maximum reliability in demanding environments.
Utilizing a high-speed 156kBits/sec communication system, the Seanet SCU allows the seamless operation of a full suite of Tritech sensors. Whether through a single twisted pair or using the Tritech MultiComm via an RS232 / Fibre-Optic interface, each connected device runs in its own onscreen window in real-time. The monitor display can be easily customized to show single or multiple windows, providing cost benefits and optimizing space requirements in control rooms.
Running on a Microsoft Windows XP operating system, the Seanet SCU is a versatile multi-tasking control unit. With a ‘LAN card’ for easy storage and data transfer, the Seanet SCU ensures convenient access to your valuable data.
Retaining the popular Remote Access Terminal (RAT) feature of the SCU V4, The Seanet SCU offers complete control with its ergonomically designed layout. The built-in-mini-joystick on the RAT facilitates precise range and bearing measurements on sonar data. Additionally, the RAT can be detached from the Seanet SCU processor for operation in a preferred location.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
- 1. My SCU reports a TMO COM AIF Error on Com Port 1 – should I be worried?
- On new systems, Seanet Pro, the Tritech software that runs on the SCU, is looking at Com Port 1 for sensor information. If it doesn’t find any it reports the TMO error that you are seeing. If you do have a Tritech unit connected to the port that isn’t working, please contact our Customer Support Team (858) 454-4044 (option 2), or brock@o-vations.com).
If you do not have a Tritech unit connected to that port you can either ignore the error or disable the Com Port in the Seanet Pro software by doing the following:
Go to the Utilities drop-down menu and select Com Setup
For the AIF device that has Com Port 1 selected, ensure that the Enable box is unchecked
Close the Com Setup windowProduct Repair and Service
